Fees

Our fees?

Our professional fees are competitive with what physicians charge in an office practice and with what our affiliated clinic charges in the office.  The actual charge depends on how much time the physician spends with you and the complexity of the medical problem.

The amount you might have to pay out-of-pocket depends on the type of insurance you have, if any.  Because there are so many different insurance plans, you will have to provide our office with the specifics of your coverage in order for us to give you a more accurate idea of what our service will cost.

In addition to the professional fees for services provided, our practice will charge a flat “service fee” or “trip charge.”  This fee will primarily cover the physician’s travel time to your home or place of business.

We charge a service fee of $95.00 for scheduling the physician who provides your care and to account for the physician's travel time, which is not reimbursed by insurance. We will charge this amount to your credit card at the time we schedule an appointment.

This fee is waived for those patients who live in Assisted Living or when seeing multiple members of the family at the same location.

For established patients who are open to seeing a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner, this fee is reduced to $35.

Don’t cancel your meeting.  Don’t find a babysitter. Don’t even get out of bed! We bring the doctor's office directly to you.

How does it work?

For a patient on commercial insurance (i.e., Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, Humana, etc...), you have to pay your co-pay and any deductibles just like you would pay to see a health care provider in a traditional office or an urgent care.

As for our Medicare patients, Medicare reimburses 80% of our physician's professional fee, once you have met your annual deductible. Many supplemental insurance plans pay the remaining 20% of the physician's fee, and some even pay your annual deductible. Some supplemental plans pay our practice directly, but some send payment directly to you.

We ask Medicare patients without supplemental insurance to pay their 20% co-pay at the time of service. Similarly, if your supplemental carrier sends payment to you, we ask that you pay us at the time of service since you will be reimbursed directly by your supplemental carrier.

We charge a service fee of $95.00 for visits to a patient's home or place of business.

Insurance does not reimburse our service fee because it is an administrative charge for scheduling the physician, not a fee for the physician's professional services; therefore it is not considered "medically necessary" thus, prior to accepting an appointment we will charge your credit card this service fee.

For Medicare do you have to be home bound?

Medicare explicitly stated in 2001 that physician home visits to patients are covered even if the patient is not homebound. Justification for a home visit must be documented, but the patient being homebound is only one of many reasons a home visit may be appropriate. Other reasons include immobility, impaired vision or hearing making it difficult to go to the office, the need to assess the home situation, the need to involve home based care givers, and cognitive, psychiatric, or emotional inability to go to the office.
